LIVE VIDEO MIX by AUFDERLICHTUNG
Roman has been part of the emerging Frankfurt techno scene from the start. With projects like Sensorama, Alter Ego, and Acid Jesus, he’s well-known throughout the electronic music world. The set is what made the sound of Frankfurt so popular: hard & funky.

Hey guys,
First comment on this set, first post for me 🙂
I’m so glad this service has been setup for all Betalounge’s ardent listeners to share each other’s views, opinions, and hopefully knowledge of track listings 🙂 I’ve been a frequent listener since 1998, and always come back for more. This is definitely my favourite music site on the Net. The Beta Lounge consistently delivers high-quality, free, Top Notch Shit. Big up yo’selves.
I’m very interested to know the names of two tracks in this particular set. The first is the very opening track, it is very cute. Also, at 1hr31minutes there is a thumping bassline track that I would also kill to own a copy of. If anyone can help, I would be most grateful.
Congrats and good work on the new site to any betalounge admins who may be reading!!

Sehr schöne Platten, die der Herr Flügel da drehen lässt. Grossartig! Unbedingt reinhören!

@CyniC: The opening Track sounds like a Remix from M83- Run Into Flowers. But I can’t tell you what the other Track is (The one with the Bassline).

Ok so I think everyone’s in agreement that this is a great set… but I’m a little confused as to what it’s a great set FOR. To me it’s like something you could put on in a backroom at a house party, or maybe in a super cool retail store (no offense to anticonsumerists). There are several moments where the set jumps up and I think it’s about to turn my ass on automatic… but it always settles back down into this sort of quiet electro funk. Do I need to turn my headphones up? (Or are most of you enjoying this for qualities other than floor factor?)

Given that i’m sitting at work at a desk under bright fluoro lights, in a position that rarely requires any sort of physical exertion, fantastic slower sets like this one, and the Spacek Soundsystem are perfect for me. The crisp construction of the beats, the track-choice, and the man’s stylish clothes are what makes it rock for me 🙂
If I wanna get on the floor, then I’d be looking further up or down that list… the new Carl Craig set is excellent, but look back down the years of different sets betalounge has given us, and there are rippers all the way back to 97. Up until last year, ’99 was my favourite year, but with the introduction of more and more European performers, late 2002- 2003 has grown on me a lot 🙂
Faves: 99 – DJ Wada, Alton Miller, To-Ka Project, Derrick Carter, Dj Burdy, Desnieles.
late ’02-’03 – Jazzanova, Carsten Jost & Lawrence, Turner, Rainer Truby, Vincenzo, Turnvadder & Nico Palermo, Alexi Delano, Berger & Bathos, Jesper Dahlback, Spacek, Girlzklub.
Peace!
