WOW!! what can i say!! These boys kick asse. i was blown away by their
set which had inteligence and depth stamped all over it. A mixture of broken
beats, deep and funky house, hip hop, latino and jazz fused seamlessly, with
the exception of about two slightly ropey mixes. I brought the Buggs Fabric live
C.D. which is again outstanding, have been lookng every where for similar type music on vinyl but just doesnt seem to be a lot about, not south coast uk anyway.. These boys are very original and in my eyes are the future of underground, an injection of fresh air into a pretty stale scene… they deserve 10/10 all the way.. Anyone got any idea when theyre playing back in the uk as i gather theyre touring the states and south america??

Bugz in the attic, of course!
pretty sweet stuff. I’m wondering if I can get a set list of Mikey General’s set? This is the kind of stuff i’m playing out at lounges here in Upstate New York. If anyone wants a sample, check out http://www.704b.com

I recentley saw them at the winter music conferance here in miami. They laid down one of the nastiest sets i have heard in a long time. From begining to end this set rocked. It doesnt get better then the Broken beats. If anyone is interested in discussing broken beats or deep house email me at jay@filuss.com.

Yo this is Hakobo from fresco.
I am DJ’ing here in San Francisco quite regularly and play a big mix of broken, hip hop, latin, brazilian, and soul. My partners Yoshito and Kento do the same, but each w/a bit more specialty.
DJ’s out here in SF that are really pushing Broken Beats are Mikebee, Kento, Yoshito, Tokyo Component and a few others. Keep an eye out on:
http://www.fresco-style.com for upcoming shows and events
also
http://www.massiveselector.com
So I’m reading that a lot of this mix was sloppy and I have a really good reason for that:
I didn’t have head phones, I was actually trying to listen to the needle hitting the beats, and trying really hard to mix, until the BL kids hooked me w/these really fugged up headphones that only one side worked, and it was really distorted. So I think for not having headphones it’s a pretty fresh ass mix.
